Eric Church judges the judges: You're not an artist!

Eric Church is of the opinion judging reality television shows isn't something a real musician would deign to do. The country crooner has unleashed an all-out attack on Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green in the latest issue of Rolling Stone.

Eric Church

If you've ever appeared as a celebrity judge on a reality show it's time to check your credibility as a musician at the door, at least, according to Eric Church. The country singer has some strong opinions about the likes of Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green, who have set aside their first careers for a comfy seat judging "talent" on a reality show called The Voice.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine Eric Church ranted of how easy it is for contestants to launch a career these days, "Honestly, if Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green f***ing turn around in a red chair, you got a deal? That’s crazy. I don’t know what would make an artist do that. You’re not an artist."

Asked whether or not he would ever accept a gig judging himself, Eric Church replied: "If I was concerned about my legacy, there’s no f***ing way I would ever sit there."

"Once your career becomes about something other than the music, then that’s what it is. I’ll never make that mistake. I don’t care if I f***ing starve," the 34-year-old "Homeboy" singer added bluntly.

Justin Bieber, Flo Rida and more for The Voice season finale!>>

Eric Church isn't the only one letting his true feelings be known, however. In response to the Rolling Stone article Blake Shelton tweeted his disappointment, writing Monday, "I wish I misunderstood this…"

Backing him up was his wife, a fellow country singer whom Church toured with previously, Miranda Lambert. "Thanks Eric Church for saying I’m not a real artist," she tweeted in response. "Or @kelly_clarkson, @carrieunderwood & @KeithUrban. You’re welcome for the tour in 2010."

Do you agree with Eric Church that no real musician would judge a reality show?

Carrie Underwood & crooner community get an apology

Carrie Underwood and some of country music's finest have an apology awaiting them if they're ready to listen. Eric Church, one of their own, is doing his best to make amends after hurling insults in Rolling Stone.

Eric Church

Eric Church is sincerely hoping Carrie Underwood and the rest of the country music community are big on forgiveness. The singer, who insulted many of the genre's biggest names during a recent interview with Rolling Stone, is now apologizing for the way things appeared.

Can Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and others forgive the singer for venting about reality television singing competitions? "Honestly, if Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green f*****g turn around in a red chair, you got a deal? That's crazy. I don't know what would make an artist do that. You're not an artist."

Underwood and Lambert duke it out for CMT Awards>>

Attempting to make amends the 34-year-old said Tuesday, "The comment I made to Rolling Stone was part of a larger commentary on these types of reality television shows and the perception they create, not the artists involved with the shows themselves. The shows make it appear that artists can shortcut their way to success."

"There are a lot of artists due to their own perseverance that have gone on to be successful after appearing on these shows, but the real obstacles come after the cameras stop rolling," Church went on to say to Us Weekly. "Every artist has to follow up television appearances with dedication towards their craft, but these shows tend to gloss over that part and make it seem like you can be ordained into stardom. I have a problem with those perceived shortcuts, not just in the music industry."

Carrie Underwood: You can't be afraid to sound dumb>>

Wrapping his apology to Carrie Underwood and the country community at large he concluded, "Many people have come to think they can just wake up and have things handed to them. I have a lot of respect for what artists like Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and my friend Miranda Lambert have gone on to accomplish."

"This piece was never intended to tear down any individual and I apologize to anybody I offended in trying to shed light on this issue. I am grateful for all of the artists and fans that have supported me along my journey and certainly did not mean for my comments to undermine their talent and achievements."

Should Carrie Underwood and other country stars forgive Eric Church?

Offbeat collabs we'd love to see at iHeartRadio Music Festival

One day long ago, somebody matched up peanut butter and jelly, and it worked! So here are some unlikely combos we'd love to see at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

Green Day at the 2012 MTV Video Music AwardsJason Aldean at the CMA Award NominationsGreen Day and Jason Aldean

On the surface, Jason Aldean and Green Day have zilch in common — other than churning out chart-burning singles. Aside from their obvious musical talents, what would make these guys such a killer combo for the iHeartRadio lineup is the devil-may-care attitude they share. Green Day is credited with bringing punk rock back to the American mainstream, and Jason Aldean is known for bringing a little rock 'n' roll to country. Both are unapologetically authentic, which has won them legions of die-hard fans. And since Aldean has already dipped his toes into the crossover collaboration stream — with Kelly Clarkson on the smash single "Don't You Wanna Stay" and Bryan Adams on "Heaven"— he's primed and ready for a collaboration with Billie Joe Armstrong and the Green Day guys. Granted, Jason probably doesn't hang with many people in his neck of the woods who wear guyliner, but questionable cosmetics aside, we think these two would come together for one hell of a rockin' iHeartRadio performance.

Lil' Wayne at the 2012 MTV Video Music AwardsTaylor Swift at the Canadian Country Music Association AwardsLil Wayne and Taylor Swift

So a few years ago, Taylor Swift joined with T-Pain to make a rap song called "Thug Story." They performed it on the CMT Country Music Awards, and the video went viral. Why? It was frickin' hilarious, that's why. And — surpisingly — even though she was rapping about comically uncool things like living with her parents and baking Caramel Delight cookies, T-Swizzle actually sounded pretty good! We're thinking a duet with Lil Wayne would be twice as insane. Since Taylor has actually gone on record before to say she'd really like to work with Wayne, it seems like this could be kismet. Plus, since they're both apparently into stage diving, they could end their iHeartRadio performance with a synchronized crowd jump sure to work fans into a total frenzy.

Ever since Linkin Park and Jay-Z teamed up for the epic Collision Course album, fans have been waiting for another hip-hop-meets-hard-rock musical foray from Linkin Park . Pitbull, perhaps just as tenacious as the breed his stage name comes from, definitely seems up to the challenge — he's a little gritty with a whole lotta swag, and the energy level of his onstage antics rivals that of a two-year-old hopped up on Pixie sticks. A mashup between these guys could open up other intriguing opportunies — perhaps a little cross collaboration between Pitbull and Jay-Z or between Linkin Park and Pitbull collaborator Ne-Yo could be nice, no? Either way, an amped up Linkin Park/Pitbull iHeartRadio performance seems very likely to elicit the classic "encore" chant from the crowd.

Who wouldn't love to see these two gutsy girls get the party started at the iHeartRadio Music Festival?! Neither is known for being particularly timid, so it's safe to say any performance put on by the two of them would be brazen. Each lady is an impressive dichotomy of tomboy and girlie girl — they often sing about unladylike endeavors such as boozin', brawlin', and partyin' — but when they rock the red carpet in designer dresses, they steal the show. These daddy's girls also have somewhat matching musical starts; they picked up their penchant for performing from their fathers. While we love their sharp, woman-power anthems — think Pink's "U + Ur Hand" or Miranda's "Gunpowder & Lead"— but we'd really love to see these powerhouse vocalists tackle a stripped-down acoustic performance a la Miranda's "More Like Her" or Pink's "Sober."

Just because you don't have tickets, doesn't mean you have to miss out on all the fun!

Miranda Lambert is married to The Voice star Blake Shelton, so why is she jealous that Shakira will be sitting by him on the show's next season?

Miranda Lambert hasn't met Shakira yet, but she's about to get very familiar with her since Shakira's signed on to judge The Voice with Lambert's husband Blake Shelton.

"I'm excited to meet you!"Lambert told Shakira via the SheKnows camera, since the singer had to pull out of the 2012 iHeartRadio Music Festival because of her recently announced pregnancy.

"I'll see when you you're sitting next to my husband [on The Voice]," she continued. "A little jealous about that because you're so sexy!"

Oh, Miranda: No need to be worried! The Texas-born blonde is plenty sexy, don't you think?

Usher shows a new side at the iHeartRadio Music Festival >>

The country singer performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, but she was also pumped to catch the one act everyone wanted to see: No Doubt.

Lambert also dished a bit on the new show she's producing for NBC that's loosely based on her life growing up with two private investigators for parents.

"It's just in the beginning stages," she said. "My family dynamic is kind of interesting. When I was first growing up, I didn't think it was, but now I look back [and realize it was]."

She added that some of the cases on the show will be based on her parents' real-life experiences, but "not the same names or anything."

One thing we didn't get a chance to ask her was whether or not the couple found their dog. The black lab went missing near the Lambert-Shelton compound in Oklahoma earlier this week.

"She is a small black lab. She has a pink collar w a tag," she tweeted on Tuesday, adding in another tweet that "she is very friendly. If u see her, please call the number on her tag. We are praying she comes home soon."

iHeartRadio Music Festival: Night 1 working the red carpet!

A road trip to Vegas is even sweeter when you're with a great group of people going to work the red carpet at iHeartRadio Music Festival! Here's Night 1.
iHeartRadio Music Festival: Night 1
Lauren interviewing Usher

A road trip to Vegas is even sweeter when you're with a great group of people going to work the red carpet at this year's hottest concert — the iHeartRadio Music Festival! Here's what happened on the first night.

OK, I officially Heart iHeartRadio!

Let's just get one thing clear before I start — even though I went to the iHeartRadio Music Festival, I didn't get to see much of the show. Why? Because I was working the red carpet from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Now that's not a bad thing — it was a blast! But I watched the fest go down from a live stream, just like all of you. Now, even though I was so busy interviewing some of the biggest names in Hollywood — NBD — I did manage to catch a bit of the show here and there, and here's what I saw: Gwen Stefani's abs and Pink's toned arms. OMG — are you serious? Everyone in the media room was oogling over these girls' rock-hard bodies. It depressed me for a minute that I'm nowhere near that fit, but I had to snap out of it real quick. It was showtime!

When celebs arrived on the red carpet , I obviously had to peel my eyes away from the live stream and get into the interviewing zone. Trust me, it was a hard thing to do — and let's be real — I was a little nervous! But after the first interview, all my butterflies flew away. So, here are the highlights of the night:

First — the best part of the night — Usher spat in my eye. That sounds weird, but it totally happened! You know, when you're talking, and you're so passionate about what you're saying, all of a sudden, a little ball of spit manages to fly out of your mouth? Ya ... well that's what happened, and like I said, it landed right in my eye. At first, I was like, "What the eff just happened?!" But once I realized what had just gone down, I celebrated it, reveling in the fact that I'd finally had an encounter with Usher's spit . Now, that's one thing I can check off the bucket list. Oh, by the way, did I mention he referred to himself in the third person in his interview? It was kinda weird. Watch it here!

Colton Hayes

Colton Haynes

Arie

Arie Luyendyk Jr.

Next up was Miranda Lambert. She is the epitome of southern-belle sweet, down-to-earth and freaking beautiful. I hate to embarrass my camera operator—but she was freaking out! Miranda's a huge idol of hers, so I'll give her that, but I was worried I was going to have to reach out and hold the camera still myself! She ended up doing just fine without my helping hand. Anyway, Miranda dished about the new show she's producing , and admitted that she gets jealous, too. Thank God it's not only me! So, who's the person causing all this green-with-envy angst? Shakira! Apparently, Blake has commented on Shakira's ... well-endowed and blessed looks, and Miranda is going to keep a close eye during Season 5 of The Voice. Better safe than sorry, girl! Shakira's hips don't lie.

Teen Wolf's Colton Haynes was the next to walk the red carpet. Let me just say, Lucy Hale — if you're not kissing this, you are cray! Colton may be good-looking on TV, but he's even hotter in person. I swoon just at the thought. Colton and I locked eyes for a good five minutes, and he told me who he wanted to kiss that night. Now, I know what you're all thinking but no, it wasn't me. It was actually ... oh, sorry. You're going to have to watch the video to get that one, too. Luckily, you can just click here.

Lauren on the iHeartRadio red carpet

BREAK TIME! Thank God, I was starving. I ate a veggie wrap on the red carpet. Check it! That's what I call one classy broad. Hey, all the other Hosts did it first! I swear ...

Anyway, break time was over when Kathy Griffin arrived on the red carpet. She was ... intimidating as sh*t . Seriously, comedians are the scariest people to interview! First, she thought I'd made up SheKnows.com. Really? We're only the greatest site to ever hit the World Wide Web! Despite that, we got jiving for a bit and dished on Brit Brit and X-TINA ... but, alas, Kathy has successfully climbed her way to the B-List, so she was too famous and important to stay on the red carpet for long. She did have a job to do!

Next, Arie Luyendyk Jr. walked the red carpet, and immediately, I thought, "Oh crap ...." Remember that article we published about seeing Arie out at a bar and prediciting that he wouldn't win? Yes, that really did happen, and the girl who ran into him was me. Anyway, as soon as I approached Arie, he said "I remember you." I just tried to laugh it off, like, "Come on, Arie, I'm a reporter! Be a good sport, it's what I do." Luckily, Arie was totally gracious about it and gave us a killer interview, telling us what he thought about Nick on Bachelor Pad taking all the money for himself, Ryan Lochte potentially being the next Bachelor, and the TV gig he's got in the works. Yes, you'll still get to see his pretty face on TV , but you'll have towatch the interview for all the juicy deets.

Only disappointment of the night? Ryan Lochte. He walked his suave self onto the red carpet and only had time for a few interviews, which means we didn't get to nab him. But don't worry, I have tweeted my disappointment to him and fully intend to stalk him down in Vegas until he gives me a 1-on-1. Hello, do you know who I am?!

Keep checking back, because I'll be bringing you more interviews, recaps, and obviously, the best articles all weekend long!

UPDATE: Recap for Night 2 is live now! Check it out by clicking here! I had a really awkward run in with Arie , and Ne-Yo pressed his body up against mine. Oh ya, that's right.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton's 'Over You' isn't over for CMAs

The Song of the Year category is a tough one for the 46th Annual Country Music Awards, but Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton's "Over You" is the top contender in this category.

The 46th Annual Country Music Awards are just around the corner, and it's an exciting time for all of the nominees, including in the Song of the Year category. Contenders for that award are being honored for writing the song, not performing it; the award for performing the song falls under the Single of the Year category. Here's a look at who's competing for the big prize on Nov. 1.

"Even If It Breaks Your Heart"

Will Hoge and Eric Paslay

This song became a smash single for the Eli Young Band when it was released in January 2012. The gold-selling tune, originally written in 2009, became the country group's second consecutive number-one single from their album Life at Best.

"God Gave Me You"

Dave Barnes

This little ditty was originally recorded by the songwriter himself as a contemporary Christian music piece, but it was The Voice's popular judge Blake Shelton who covered the song, which became his fifth consecutive number-one single. Shelton heard Barnes' rendition of the song and has said it was the catalyst for his marriage proposal to his now-wife, Miranda Lambert. The video even includes footage of Lambert the night before their nuptials. That Shelton is a true romantic.

"Home"

Dan Wilson, Brett Beavers and Dierks Bentley

This tune's origin was inspired by the tragic events in Tucson, Arizona, in January 2011, when U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords was critically injured and six innocent bystanders lost their lives in an assassination attempt at a constituents' rally.

Bentley, who also recorded the song, told The Desert Sun, "The song's about a sense of being and memories of the country. Everybody's idea of America is a little different."

"Over You"

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton

The dynamic country duo teamed up to write a single about Shelton's older brother, who was killed in a car accident when they were teens.

Lambert said, "Blake said he couldn't record [it] for himself or sing it onstage every night, but he would be honored for me to."

It became the second song released on her fourth studio album, Four the Record, and it went to number one on Billboard's Country chart. According to country music and recording industry experts, this is the song to beat at the CMAs on Nov. 1.

"Springsteen"

Eric Church, Ryan Tyndell and Jeff Hyde

This song was recorded by Church, and while it does allude to several of Bruce Springsteen's famous songs like "Born in the U.S.A." and "Born to Run," it mainly focuses on the memories of a teenaged romance. The tune was critically acclaimed when it was released in February 2012, and The Boss himself was such a fan of the song that he sent a note to Church saying, "I hope we cross paths somewhere."

SheKnows will be there for all of the action on Thursday, Nov. 1, with the live stream from the red carpet. Be sure to watch your favorite country music stars gussied up in their fashions right here on SheKnows.

Hot cowboys. Country queens in couture. Unforgettable performances. The 46th Annual Country Music Awards is upon us! The show, hosted once again by twangy twosome Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, is slated to air Nov. 1 at 8/7c on ABC — and SheKnows will be right there on the red carpet to bring y’all the complete country experience.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood hosting the 45th Annual CMAs

It's been a banner year for country music. Between country artists topping trending news to country hits becoming mainstream crossovers, the genre is enjoying a heyday. Understandably, the hype surrounding this year's 46th Annual Country Music Awards is palpable.

If you're nursing an achy-breaky heart because you couldn't wrangle up a ticket to country's big night, chin up: Not only can you catch the CMAs live on ABC Nov. 1 at 8/7c, but SheKnows' own entertainment correspondent Lauren Kelly will be streaming live from the red carpet from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Central to bring you interviews with some of country’s hottest stars.

This behind-the-scenes peek is sure to deliver a juicy moment or two. At the 2012 Emmys, Tom Hanks awkwardly offered SheKnows correspondent Whitney English 20 bucks... does Lauren have an inexplicable celebrity interaction in her near future? With the roster of big-name talents who'll be stopping by Lauren's red-carpet perch, anything is possible. She'll be drawling about fashion, nominations and more with:

  • Taylor Swift
  • Kelly Clarkson
  • Jason Aldean
  • The Band Perry
  • Lady Antebellum
  • Big & Rich
  • Blake Shelton
  • Martina McBride
  • Carrie Underwood
  • Brad Paisley
  • Kimberly Williams-Paisley
  • Alan Jackson
  • Thompson Square
  • Dustin Lynch

We’re also keeping our fingers crossed that country music newcomers Jana Kramer, Brett Eldredge, The Farms and Hunter Hayes will swing through for a friendly chat.

So, stellar SheKnows interviews aside, what else will the night hold? Last year at the CMAs, Lionel Richie hit the stage with country crooners like Darius Rucker, Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet made jokes about Taylor Swift's love life and Miss Swift got the last laugh by walking away with the coveted Entertainer of the Year award. Here are a few things we'll be keeping a watchful eye out for:

Who will rock the red carpet?

Last year, hostess Carrie Underwood literally sparkled in a stunning, gold-beaded Reem Acra gown. Laura Bell Bundy, on the other hand, defied logic in a royal blue pantsless, caped Skating With the Stars-esque ensemble. Who will shine at the 46th Annual CMAs?

What hunk will T. Swift be escorting?

'Twas a fairytale romance in the making — country music's sweetheart, Taylor Swift, canoodling with 18-year-old Conor Kennedy. But, uh-oh, sources recently started spreading rumors that Swift has also been getting cozy with ex-governor Arnie's son, Patrick Schwarzenegger. Will the star put relationship trouble rumors to rest by showing up with Conor? Or will she set tongues wagging by bringing Pat?

Does Jason Aldean's wife dare make an appearance?

Up for the night's most prestigious award — Entertainer of the Year — CMA nominee Jason Aldean has been burning up the Billboard charts lately. What proved more incendiary, however, were photos of the married Aldean kissing Idol hopeful Brittany Kerr in a bar. Will Jason's wife, Jessica, put on a brave face to support her recently sleazy hubs?

Can country couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert make a clean sweep?

At last year's 45th Annual CMAs, Blake Shelton walked away with the night's Male Vocalist of the Year award, and his wife Miranda snagged Female Vocalist of the Year — thereby cementing the couple's status as country royalty. This year, both stand to rack up four awards if they sweep.

Don't miss a single minute of the 46th Annual Country Music Awards! Watch SheKnows' live stream  starting at 5/4c on Thursday, Nov. 1!

This gentle and passionate song, which is an ode to a lost family member, tugs at our heartstrings in this touching video.

Miranda Lambert live

Up for Music Video of the Year and Song of the Year, this couple is on fire. Can I call them the Jay-Z and Beyonce of country music? I want to. In my eyes, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are immensely talented and can do no wrong. This beautiful husband-and-wife artistic duo collaborated in writing this tribute to Mr. Shelton's late brother.

Even if you didn't know the history behind the song, you would certainly understand when you watched this delicate and moving video. Set in the woods, the lighting is dim and the sky is overcast — riddled with symbolism, the scenes move from brothers playing until one disappears and the camera pans to a pristine, lone white horse, standing majestically.

Mrs. Blake Shelton looks beautiful in a ruffled dress with combat-inspired knee-high boots. A black-lace, tailored coat adorns her petite figure as she walks contemplatively throughout, wearing her pain all over her face. The visuals are breathtaking and set the mood, with Miranda's performance being entirely moving.

I would have liked to see Blake in the video, but I can imagine it would have been too painful for him. Blake Shelton was incredibly close to his brother. Taste of Country reveals Blake and Miranda actually cried when Blake coined the lyrics, "How dare you?" Watching Miranda recite them in the video almost brought a tear to my eye.

It's really refreshing to watch a music video that evokes such emotion from the viewer. Death is such a sensitive topic, and I feel the directors really captured the pain involved in mourning. Romantic love is such a popular topic in music that we forget love also exists amongst family — and that it too can initiate such a lack of control over our feelings. This music video really could win at this year's Country Music Awards!

Music review: Blake Shelton's 'God Gave Me You'

As if Blake Shelton weren't a heartthrob already, this song is a mesmerizing hybrid of sincere passion and warming honesty — all making him completely irresistible.

Blake Shelton It doesn't matter if you were the first to sing it, as long as you are the last, Mr. Shelton

Nominated for 2012's Song of the Year and Single of the Year at the Country Music Awards, "God Gave Me You" originally was written by David Barnes. According to Taste of Country, this power ballad actually was the motivation behind Blake Shelton's building the courage to propose marriage to Miranda Lambert.

A man humbled by his love is a formula for the perfect love song — and who could say no to that dimple?

The honesty of country music matched with the smooth, warming twang of Shelton's voice really sold me on this song. It begins with a tender guitar, strumming with typical, nostalgic candor, and then Blake starts singing with brutal honesty.

"I've been a walking heartache,
I've made a mess of me."

As the song ventures onward, we hear his ruthless, unabashed pride in his woman's love for him and his admirable acceptance of his numerous flaws. The relatability of the song could also extend to a child, a sibling, or anyone who could instill this sort of inspiration in someone. But, because of his very publicized marriage, it's fair to assume this is an ode to his wife. Blake always gives his music a personal touch, and I definitely recommend his also-nominated "Over You," co-written with and sung by his wife, Miranda Lambert.

He sounds certain that a divine force had to be responsible for finding such a wonderful match to his undeserving existence. Persevering at all costs, the love he describes truly sounds like a modern-day fairy tale. Not to mention, he displays his beautiful voice in all the right ways — pitch perfect.

If you weren't charmed by him before, you very well may be now

It doesn't really take much to convince me Blake means what he sings. He has a longing voice that sounds strangely strained — in a good way. It's almost as though he is pleading for his song to get conveyed to the person it is about, and the rest of us are all watching from the sidelines. This song may apply to anyone, but he sings it with a personal fire — laden with gratitude.

Blake has that "It" factor, a certain superstar charm that is able to cross over into his music and even into his television presence on The Voice.

I'm not on The Voice, but I am Team Blake

Check out the chorus below, hear how much emotion is in his voice, and then tell me this song isn't a winner. It will stand the test of time, and I certainly hope those voting for the awards share the sentiment, too. Ahh! The anticipation is killing me!

"God gave me you for the ups and downs,
God gave me you for the days of doubt,
For when I think I've lost my way,
There are no words here left to say, it's true —
God gave me you."

Yee-haw! Not to get too stereotypical, but all of our fantasies about Blake Shelton involve either him wearing a strategically placed cowboy hat or us wearing one while... Ahem... We'd save a horse & ride this cowboy

Yee-haw! Not to get too stereotypical, but all of our fantasies about Blake Shelton involve either him wearing a strategically placed cowboy hat or us wearing one while...

Ahem... Excuse us, our brains have been turned to mush just imaging how we'd conduct ourselves if we ever got anywhere near the winning The Voice judge and country music star in person. All we'll say is: Miranda Lambert is one lucky lady.

Why we love him

The Southern drawl and perfect hair go a long way toward making Blake Shelton our current favorite celebrity crush, but add to that the fact that he seems like a genuinely nice and funny guy? We're putty in his hands.

Blake Shelton

Born: June 18, 1976

Hometown: Ada, Oklahoma

Height: 6' 5"

We'd pick him as our coach on The Voice

Blake Shelton on The Voice

We can dream, can't we, that we have golden pipes and a shot at winning The Voice? If that were the case, we'd definitely pick Blake as our personal coach, if only to hear that rolling Oklahoma drawl day in and day out. But even though Blake is officially cemented in the minds of the American public as a true superstar, he's really a down-home guy who gets pleasure from the simple things in life, like his hometown and his lovely musician wife.

"What you need to know about me is that I always just wanted to be a country singer,"he told Redbook. "I didn't choose the path of television or being on magazine covers. You know, you can get so wrapped up in it. I can go hang out with Adam, Christina and the guys and have a big party where it's like, 'Yeah, it's L.A., bitch!' But then I just want to go home and get into my truck. Being in Oklahoma with Miranda is what makes me really happy."

Staying grounded even in the midst of all this fame? We're more than impressed!

"What you need to know about me is that I always just wanted to be a country singer. I didn't choose the path of television or being on magazine covers."

He's as addicted to Twitter as we are

We all have our vices, and we happen to love that Twitter is among Blake's hard-to-kick habits. AOL's The Boot asked him a few leading questions about the site and his use of it:

"The one tweet that I regret sending was ... Probably whichever one was the last one that I sent after midnight. If you asked Miranda what my worst habit is, she'd say ... Twitter. I am trying to quit ... Twitter."

We love his Twitter game, though — he cutely calls his followers "BS'ers," reveals funny details from conversations with Miranda, retweets his fans and shares pics of himself, one of which featured an out-of-control hairdo. Check it all out at @blakeshelton. But be warned! Some of his salty language isn't exactly PG.

We'll follow you no matter how unedited you are, Blake!

He has a fantastic sense of humor

From allowing Chelsea Handler to lay into him on Chelsea Lately while promoting his new holiday album, Cheers, It's Christmas, to gamely chatting with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb on the fourth hour of the Today show about Hoda's not-so-secret crush on him, Blake is a great sport and a skilled funnyman — happy to play along, even when the topic of discussion is his much-talked-about drinking habit.

Jay Leno recently quizzed him about which of his tweets he wrote drunk and which he wrote sober.

"Sometimes late at night, after I've had a few drinks, and that's when I'm really thinking clearly, I'll go on Twitter and announce, you know, things, like skinny jeans and other ridiculous things," Blake told Jay.

One of the Twitter jokes that Jay took him to task for?

"I'm so drunk right now I just walked in to McDonald's, pulled down my pants and shouted 'Can I get this super sized?!!'"

Oh, Blake. We'd super-size ya, baby. Wink-wink!

Miranda Lambert

Blake Shelton's
relationship status:

No big mystery here! He's been happily married to fellow country superstar Miranda Lambert since 2011. Her, "powerful personality" is one thing he says he loves about her. But as for what keeps them going strong, it's being like-minded that serves as the glue in their relationship:

"I never set out at any point in my life and said to myself, 'I want this kind of girl.' I met Miranda, and she just was that girl," he told Redbook. "I'm screwed now that I've met her, because I don't know who could be better for me in my eyes and my mind. That's just how she's always been for me since I met her.

"I'm screwed now that I've met her, because I don't know who could be better for me in my eyes and my mind."

"Now if I have to think about specific things, I'd say she loves the same things I love. She loves music and does it for a living and is successful at it, and it keeps her busy and prevents us from getting on each other's nerves. We can actually have our own separate lives and still be supportive and understanding of each other. I get it. I thought we were finally going to be home together for a week, and an opportunity came up for her to be on the Today show or something like that. It was sad, and I hated it, but I said, 'Naw, go ahead, baby! You'd better do that because your album's coming out, and I understand.' It's important for us to have somebody who gets all that."

We love a great love story, especially one that's built on respect, trust and hard work — all the important things in life. Congratulations, you two!

LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood: Worst dressed in CMA history?

$

Some of the most beautiful and talented ladies will walk the red carpet on Nov. 1 for the 46th Annual Country Music Awards. Unfortunately, they are not always fashion forward, and sometimes they are fashion flops.

This year's Country Music Awards kick off Nov. 1 in Nashville, Tennessee, and SheKnows will have all of the excitement from the red carpet, live! It will be a great opportunity to see the fashions and accessories firsthand and to judge who is best dressed or worst dressed that night. To gear up for country music's big night, let's take a look back at the worst-dressed performers in recent memory.

Carrie Underwood

CarrieUnderwoodWorstDressedCMA

Underwood is clearly country music's sweetheart, and she rarely misses in her fashion choices. However, during the 2011 CMAs, she had a series of wardrobe changes to go along with her hosting duties. This white, asymmetrical Cengiz Abazoglu creation was a freak error in judgment for the "Jesus Takes The Wheel" singer. While it does show off her great legs, it doesn't do much for the rest of her lean body.

LeAnn Rimes

Sometimes it is hard to remember that Rimes started out in country music, given the fact that over the last few years, she has been known for her cheating scandal with now-husband Eddie Cibrian. In 2009, she busted out a come-hither look that went awry, with eyes blackened like a raccoon's and shoes that should have stayed in the closet. She really looks much healthier with a little meat on her bones, too.

Laura Bell BundyLaura Bell Bundy

This one might take the cake for tackiest red-carpet dress in recent memory. The Broadway-star-turned-country-singer seemed to have confused country music glamour with Las Vegas showgirl. The plunging, rhinestone leotard surrounded with a purple-wrapped skirt was all wrong for such a lady. The gals at Go Fug Yourself summed it up best with, "Yeah, you're not understudying for the Reese Witherspoon part in a regional theatre adaptation of Water for Elephants."

Natasha Bedingfield

The "Unwritten" singer not only wore two outfits at the CMAs in 2011, she also took home the trophy for Worst Dressed twice in one night. Bedingfield walked the down the red carpet looking like Melanie Griiffth straight off of the set of Working Girl, and then she changed to a Christian Siriano number that looked like the fur of a thousand Muppets. Someone needs to hire a new stylist, stat!

Miranda Lambert

Before she was officially Mrs. Blake Shelton, the "Over You" CMA nominee experimented with her curvy figure and red-carpet look. While the blue color looks great on her, the dress is ill-fitting, and it looks like she robbed a jewelry store in at the CMAs in 2008. Lambert has done a great job of refining her look over the last several years, so thankfully, this outfit is just a distant memory.

CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert is one feisty chick — and we love her! However, her wardrobe choices for the 2012 CMA Awards left a lot to be desired. We're not exactly sure what is going on with this colorful corset top. Not flattering at all.

Motorboatin' Paisley: OMG moments of the CMA Awards

The 46th Annual CMA Awards were filled with many things you'd expect from a country music extravaganza — think big hair, cowboy boots and twang. Thanks in large part to co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, however, the night held a few unexpected highlights.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood host the 2012 CMA AwardsBrad Paisley explains motorboatin'

So there's this song. It's called "Pontoon," and it's by the band Little Big Town. Everybody and their brother has been singing it all summer long, which makes for a lot of fun when one of the main lyrics is "Out here in the open, mmmm motorboatin'." For those of you who know what "motorboatin'" is slang for, you likely snicker inside when that lyric crosses your lips. If you didn't know what it meant going into the CMAs last night, well... you do now. Not only did Brad jokingly call out the band for singing such suggestive lyrics, he also explained the act to sweet co-host Carrie Underwood— complete with sound effects and facial gestures. Clearly, Brad and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, know how to keep the romance alive.

Tim McGraw heats up the stage

There's no denying it was pretty damn hot when Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Eric Church rocked the stage together to start the show. But, hey, was it really that much of a surprise that those three, whether onstage together or alone, would make us swoon? Eh, not so much. What was a pleasant surprise, however, was Tim McGraw's performance of his new song "One of Those Nights." And, let us just say, yes it was... one of those nights where we are reminded just how smokin' hot the veteran country crooner is. Faith Hill, you are one lucky lady. Oh yeah, the song was nice too.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood Gangnam Style 2012 CMA Awards"Gangnam Style" goes country

Brad and Carrie have hosted the CMA Awards for five years running now, so how did the pair decide to shake things up this year? For starters — despite Carrie's warning that he "hurt himself last time"— Brad slapped on a pair of shades signature to South Korean pop singer PSY and busted out dance moves to the explosively viral hit "Gangnam Style." After a few bars, Carrie gave in and joined her co-host as they polished off the song with their countrified take on the choreography. Extra props have to go to Carrie here, who managed to keep a straight face and not fall on said face while hopping around in sky-high stilettos and a minidress.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood glove up to induce Jennifer Nettles' baby

With super pregnant Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles sitting close to the stage, Brad and Carrie brought attention to the glowing gal’s baby bump more than once. Jaws dropped, however, when Brad and Carrie slipped on some latex gloves and suggested what this awards show really needed to amp up the ratings was a live birth via induction. They then unveiled their "crack team of doctors," which included three sexy nurses towering over Grand Ole Opry member/Country Music Hall of Famer Little Jimmy Dickens.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert get emotional

When husband-and-wife team Blake and Miranda won Song of the Year for "Over You," the rarely serious pair displayed a shocking moment of sentimentality. With Miranda crying and Blake fighting back tears, Blake managed to choke out what it meant to win this particular award, since they wrote the song in honor of his late brother and under the advice of his late father. And, of course, the pair adorably showered each other with heartfelt thanks and affection. All together now... awwwwwwww. The sweethearts were back to their typically rascally selves by show’s end, though, when — during his Male Vocalist of the Year speech — Blake admitted to throwing back a few brewskies. Miranda, meanwhile, eloquently started her Female Vocalist of the Year speech with "Holy crap."

Are Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton having a baby?

$

The couple is a prime target for baby gossip. But this time, they have taken to Twitter to make a joke of any rumors out there.

Miranda and Blake

Rumors of a Miranda Lambert-Blake Shelton baby are making their way across the internet, but it looks like the news is as much of a shock to the couple as everyone else. Life&Style published a story that was slightly misleading, to say the least.

The headline on the cover said “Exclusive Baby News!” and included a photo of Reese Witherspoon and her baby and a photo of Lambert and Shelton. Next to their photo, it said “Blake & Miranda: We're having a baby.”

So where did the magazine get the information that they are having a baby? Well, not from the couple. And in fact, once you open the magazine that is not what they are saying at all.

"They definitely want children," a so-called "insider" tells the tabloid, according to gossipcop.com, adding, "They'll have a big family for sure."

Tuesday, Lambert took to Twitter to talk about the magazine cover. She tweeted, "Wow! I just read the headline! 'we are having a baby' yay!@blakeshelton we're getting a new puppy?:)"

A few minutes later, she decided to further dispel the rumors, by tweeting: "Don't believe everything you read! I'm having a big 'randarita' right now In honor of the baby we are not yet having! #Sorryfolksparksclosed"

Shelton took to Twitter also, but instead of posting a comment, he decided to just respond to other people's comments about the topic.

@taylor96_ tweeted to Shelton: "Wait is @Miranda_Lambert pregnant?" to which Shelton replied, "Either that or Reese had my baby... I'm confused too!!"

Fan @thesheltonss tweeted to him: "BLAKE YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO US IS SHE PREGNANT?!?!?"

Shelton responded with: "I hope not.. She's passed out with a bottle of Bacardi in her hands!!!"

The couple seemed to poke fun at the cover while at the same time working to dispel the rumors. But in the meantime, they managed to show everyone what a cute couple they really are.

What were on the minds and Twitter feeds of some of our favorite celebrity moms? Blake Shelton and Miranda LambertMiranda Lambert and Blake Shelton

After Life & Style splashed a photo of Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton on the cover with the title “We’re having a baby!”, the couple took to Twitter to clear up the rumors — in a way only they can!

“Wow! I just read the headline! 'We are having a baby' yay! Blake Shelton, we're getting a new puppy?“ Lambert tweeted.

“Either that or Reese had my baby... I'm confused too!!“ Shelton tweeted back, referring to the fact that the Life & Style cover also had Reese Witherspoon with her new baby Tennessee. “Look, I know I've gained some weight but the test was negative!“ Shelton joked.

“Blake you can't do this to us. Is she pregnant?“ one follower tweeted.

“I hope not... She's passed out with a bottle of Bacardi in her hands!“ Shelton joked.

“Don't believe everything you read!“ Lambert tweeted. “I'm having a big 'randarita' right now in honor of the baby we are not yet having!“

In case you are wondering, a “Mirandarita” is her signature drink made of a shot of Bacardi, Crystal Light raspberry lemonade and Sprite Zero.

So, no baby yet — but perhaps this country couple plans on starting a family in the future?!

Giuliana Rancic

“Exciting day Monday!” tweeted Giuliana Rancic. “After 3 amazing months on maternity leave, I'm back on @ENews...and with a new co-host @TerrenceJ!!!”

After struggling with infertility and battling breast cancer, Rancic and her husband Bill Rancic welcomed a baby boy named Edward Duke via gestational surrogate.

“Special Sunday for me & @BillRancic...Baby Duke is getting baptized!!! He looks like an angel in his christening gown.#specialday” tweeted Rancic.

Rancic also took to Twitter to send love to her friend, Brooke Burke, who recently announced she is battling thyroid cancer. “Sending love and best wishes to my friend @brookeburke. Call on me if u need me...I'm here for you,” she wrote.

Like we had any doubt that baby Edward would have a great wardrobe, Rancic tweeted: “Ok, seriously??? @SplendidLA has such cute clothes for Duke! Oh, and don't think mom didn't pick up a few things:) #loveit”

Tamera Mowry

Tamera Mowry welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Aden John Tanner, on November 11.

“Thnks for all the love and well wishes. @adamhousley and I are very overjoyed with love and feel so blessed. Being a new mommy ROCKS!” tweeted Mowry.

The Sister, Sister star also shared an adorable photo of her baby boy, tweeting “Chillin with my grandma Darlene today! She hooked me up with a cool outfit!“

Mowry’s husband, Fox News correspondent Adam Housley explained the meaning behind his name, tweeting, “Aden John Tanner...he has two middle names. A for me. T for Tamera and John..our fathers middle names.”

Kourtney Kardashian and MasonKourtney Kardashian

“The rare hour in my house when all I hear are the breaths of my sleeping angels,” tweeted Kourtney Kardashian, who is mom to Mason and Penelope.

“A little alone time,” she later tweeted, with a link to a photo of her and Scott Disick at the beach with Mason.

“Scott and I took Mason to the beach for a little alone time with us. He is such a little beach boy. I really do love that in Miami you can go to the beach any time of the year and it's so beautiful. On our way leaving the beach Mason said 'Goodbye beach! Thank you for a wonderful day!' He melts my heart.”

Tori Spelling

“Prepare yourself for… MOMS GONE WILD!!!!” tweeted Tori Spelling, with a link to her blog where she writes about how difficult it is for her to leave her kids and have a date night.

“Hello, my name is Tori, and I'm a Kid-a-holic. It's true. I have real issues leaving my kids. Because of my issues Dean and I rarely go to parties, dinners, a date or anything adult driven. Seems that if there's not a kid’s menu, I'm not interested,” she wrote.

“Four constant offspring voices is like white noise to me,” she writes, referring to her four kids. “ It's my comfy zone. But, after two years of back to back pregnancies and four beautiful but loud babes later my husband and I probably could use a night to ourselves.”

She shared cute photos of her night away from the kids with her husband Dean as they attended a friend’s wedding in Santa Barbara.

Taylor Swift finally learns to accept an award

The singer has been winning awards for at least five years, but still acts completely shocked each time that happens. But Sunday's AMAs may have shown us a whole new side of her.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is only 22 years old, but she has been in the industry longer than many her same age . But the singer still, without fail, seems completely shocked anytime she wins anything . Sunday night’s American Music Awards may have changed that.

With her new album Red, Swift is showing she is all grown up, and her toned-down acceptance faces may actually be showing the woman she has become.

Even though she started her first acceptance speech with: “Thank you so much you guys, this is unreal,” she did so in a much less shocked way than she normally does. She simply smiled and acted thankful. But at this point, she has to know it’s very possible she could win things.

Swift’s performance seemed to be showing this new side as well.

She started “Trouble” in a white lace dress and cowboy boots, but throughout the song changed into a black and red corset dress. The song is about meeting the bad boy, and blaming only yourself when the relationship doesn’t work out. The outfit change presumably showed that transition, and possibly how it changes who you are.

Those who don’t follow the singer closely might think this new Taylor Swift started with the album Red, but as recently as the 2012 Country Music Awards, she used her surprised face every time she won anything, or really anytime anyone mentioned her. Swift was much less visible at Sunday’s AMAs because of the numerous genres of music, but did win Favorite Female Country Artist. She was up against fellow singers Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert.

Swift will undoubtedly be up for many more awards in next year’s ceremonies because her album came out last month, but for now, it looks like she is practicing her gracious-but-not-too-surprised face.
